The first Confirmation to go by the wayside due to the weather in Laois has been announced.
Confirmation in Stradbally, which was due to take place on Saturday has been cancelled.
St Colman’s NS broke the news via their Facebook page this morning.
They say: “Due to the forecasted weather Saturday’s Confirmation has been postponed.
“We will let you know when we have a new date.”
Confirmations in a number of parishes in Laois are in danger of not going ahead this weekend due to the incredible amount of snow that has fallen in the county.
All schools in Leinster and Munster have been ordered to close until Monday by the Department of Education.
While schools with confirmations scheduled for this weekend are being advised by their dioceses to make a decision in a timely manner.
