A young man in his 20s has died in a workplace accident at a factory yesterday evening.
The incident happened at Kildare Chilling Company on the Dublin Road near Kildare Town.
The man is believed to be a Moldovan national who had only recently moved to Ireland and began working in the factory.
A source told the Leinster Leader: “He was due to get his first pay cheque the day he died.”
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Gardai and the HSA are carrying out separate investigations into the incident.
A spokesman for the HSA said: “We’ve launched an investigation but we have no details to give out as of yet.”
No one else was injured in the incident.
