Portlaoise GAA are hosting their annual ‘Voice of the Town’ competiton in the Midlands Park Hotel on Friday, February 9 at 7pm.
There are 15 competiting for the top spot but only one can walk away with Player of the Match.
The starting line up for the night is; Tommy Mulligan, Ed O’Dwyer, Anna Healy and Julia Cahill, Joey Ward, Aisling Brennan, Amy O’Brien, Tara Brown, Elaine Preston, Christy Bannon, Sarah O’Sullivan, Sandra Breen, Jimmy Keenan, Cian Mac Gearailt and Maria Wright.
All singers on the night will be backed by local band The Big Spoon and frontman Dick Finnegan.
Huge fundraising effort
All funds raised from this event will go to help Portlaoise GAA Club to develop the club grounds in Rathleague. Rathleague is used in the dual club for football, hurling, ladies football and camogie for all age groups.
The singers have been sponsored by local businesses including Telfords, The Welcome Inn, O’Gorman’s Bar, Downeys Autostop, Mick Ryan’s Pub, IFAC Accountants, Andy Bergins, DeBruns @ Humes, Aidan O’Connell & Associates, Portlaoise Panto Group, Bosco’s Gala Store, The Office Bar, Peigs Bar, Hughes Chemist and McKeown Stone.
Tickets are €20 and are available from Bosco’s, Martley’s, Peig’s, Hume’s, Midlands Park Hotel and Portlaoise parish centre.
