Former Laois resident, Barry Keegan, has been rewarded with a deal from an Irish publisher for his new comic book called ‘The Bog Road’.
The book is a ‘dark fantasy’ which is set around various locations around the O’Moore county, and has received great acclaim for it’s storyline and illustrations.
Barry is a full-time network engineer and has been an artist all his life, and recently he has launched a web comic called ‘The Shadow Realm’, and it has also attracted great interest especially from MMA enthusiasts.
The web comic focuses on the physical dangers involved in the sport, and Barry is happy with the reaction it has received.
Barry lived in Portarlington with his wife, Linda, between 2013 and 2017 but since he moved to Newbridge he still comes back to the county on a regular basis.
The storyline includes many locations around the county including Emo Court, Rock of Dunamaise and Slieve Bloom Mountains.
Barry says his new 32 page comic book, The Bog Road, is love letter to the county of Laois and he is looking for a local launch of the comic book, and he will be in attendance at the Celtic Con comic book convention in Portlaoise in June.
