Laois camogie players swapped their skirts and boots for gúnas and heels at their awards night in the Castle Arms hotel Durrow on Saturday, January 20.
Over 100 guests attended the event to support the girls after their successful year.
Laois Camogie were also delighted to have hurling legend and Sunday Game panelist Cyril Farrell attend the event as guest speaker.
Cyril was manager of Galway on three separate occasions and helped the county to All Ireland success in the 1980s.
After his role as manager, he is well known as a hilarious Sunday Game pundit.
Farrell spoke candidly to the players on the importance of carrying the Laois jersey to the next generation. And to always work and train hard.
25 girls from the U-16 panel were there to collect medals on belhalf of their successful achievements, alongside manager Tina Cuddy, Selectors Laudie Quinlan and Mary Moore and First Aid Olivia Byrne.
Chairman Barney O’Connor also said a special thanks to sponsors who came on board to help throughout the year and to Rose Dunne, PRO.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable night for all involved.
Leinster winners
The Laois senior team were also celebrating winning the Leinster intermediate camogie final against Westmeath last year.
It’s all systems go for Laois at the minute, having begun training and recently announcing their camogie captain for this year’s campaign.
David Dunning’s side will begin their campaign at home to to Kildare on Sunday, February 18.
