The death has occurred of Bernadette Shelly (née Kavanagh) of Slieve Bloom Hse, Rosenallis, Co. Laois, formerly of Monument House, Mountmellick, Co. Laois and formerly of Ballinamona House, Knocktoper, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully in the loving care of the nurses and staff of Oakdale Nursing Home, Portarlington. Deeply regretted by her loving husband Liam, daughters Yvonne and Jacinta, son Eljay, grandchild Marsha, sisters Kathleen, Josephine and Patricia, in-laws Mark and Jerry, extended family, neighbours and friends.
Reposing in Oakdale Nursing Home Portarlington, on Wednesday evening from 7pm with Rosary at 9pm. Removal on Thursday morning at 11.15am to St Brigid’s Church, Rosenallis, arriving for 12 o’clock Requiem Mass. Burial afterwards in St Brigid’s Cemetery, Rosenallis.
Family flowers only please, donations in lieu if desired to “The Residents Fund” Oakdale Nursing Home, Portlarlington. Donation box will be present in the church.

Market Square, Portarlington, Laois
At the Regional Hospital, Tullamore after a long illness. Sadly missed by his loving brothers Don, Tom, Dermot, Philip and Gerry, sister Peggie, sisters-in-law Kathleen, Tina, Marion and Dora (deceased), cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives and all his friends.
Reposing at Maher’s Chapel of Rest Portarlington on Wednesday from 5pm with Rosary at 8pm. Removal on Thursday at 9:20am arriving St Michael’s Church, Portarlington for Requiem Mass at 10am. Funeral afterwards to St Michael’s Cemetery, Portarlington.
Shiela Duff (née Guing)
Orchard, Timahoe, Laois / Clonbullogue, Offaly
Shiela passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the loving and tender care of the management and staff of Cloverlodge Nursing Home, Athy, Co. Kildare. Predeceased by her husband Tom. Sadly missed by her sons Pat and John, daughters Deirdre and Fiona, sister Maureen and brother Danny, son in law, daughters in law, sisters in law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at her residence in Orchard Timahoe, Sunday 14th. Recital of the Rosary at 8 o’clock Sunday evening. Removal Monday morning at 10.30 to arrive at Saint Michael’s Church, Timahoe for 11 o’clock Requiem Mass. Interment to follow in Saint Michael’s Cemetery, Timahoe.
Kathleen Costello (née Culleton)
Bracklone St., Portarlington, Laois
Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at the Regional Hospital, Tullamore. Loving wife of the late Paddy. Deeply regretted by her loving sons Michael, Brendan, Tommy and Patrick, daughters Lucy, Eugenie and Breda, sister Briggie, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, son-in-law, daugthers-in-law, brothers-in-law, neices, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Jean Devine-Mills (née Mc Eleny)
Masslough Meadows, Ballinakill, Laois
Jean died peacefully in the loving care of the staff at Droimnin Nursing Home, Stradbally, Co. Laois. Deeply regretted by her loving daughter Aileen (Delaney), brother, sisters, son in law Willie, grandaughters Sarah and Lynsey, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Droimnin Nursing Home from 5pm on Sunday evening and Rosary at 7pm. Removal from the nursing home on Monday morning at 10.20am to St. Brigid’s Church, Ballinakill for Funeral Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to Glasnevin Crematorium, arriving at 2pm.
Rosanna Kerry
Knockmay Est., Portlaoise, Laois
Peacefully in the loving company of her family. Rosanna, beloved wife of the late William and dearly loved mum to Rosemary, Daniel, Margaret, Anne-Marie, Jacqueline, Susan, William, Henry, Michael, and Laura. Deeply regretted by her loving family, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephew, nieces, relatives and friends.
Removal from Keegan’s Funeral Home to SS Peter and Pauls Church on Sunday to arrive for 12.30 pm Requiem Mass. Interment afterwards in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise. House private. Family flowers only, donations, if desired, to the Alzeimhers Association of Ireland.
