Portlaoise’s finest tv and film star Robert Sheehan was spotted out and about in Laois this Christmas.
Sheehan paid a visit to Treacy’s Bar & Restaurant in The Heath with his family on St Stephen’s Night where he stood happily for photos with the Treacy’s staff.
Owner Niall Treacy said that the acclaimed actor has certainly not forgotten his Laois roots.
“He calls out [to Treacy’s] every now and again. He always has a word for everyone and is always very approachable and interested in what’s going on in the local community,” said Niall.
Treacy’s is a familiar spot for Sheehan ever since he played traditional music on the bodhrán and banjo in the bar and restaurant as a child.
Sheehan was causing a stir wherever he was spotted around the county.

This is not the first time the famous star been seen out in Portlaoise in recent times.
The 29 year old was spotted in SuperValu Portlaoise and other locations over the Christmas period.
Last October he paid a visit to St Mary’s CBS in Portlaoise to talk about his career and life with Transition Year students.
