It’s one of the most popular RTE programmes going, it’s set to return to our screens in early 2018 – and a Laois man is due to be one of the stars of the show on newest series of First Dates Ireland.
Camross man Eoin Scully – who is well known throughout the county in sporting and political circles – is one of the new contestants and the show he is set to feature on is expected to be aired in mid January.
Scully, who is a hurling referee and recently stepped down as chairman of Laois Fianna Fail, was selected to take part in the programme which was filmed in September.
The programme has proved a big hit since appearing on RTE, which shows contestants going on a date in the First Dates restaurant. They are interviewed before and afterwards as well the date itself being filmed.
Scully won’t be the first Camross man to appear on the show as Jamie Cuddy was in last year’s series – and proved a big hit after he referenced the “fussy heifers” on his farm.
And a Laois girl was also on last year’s show – talented golfer Mary Doyle from Portlaoise featured in an earlier episode.
