Funeral arrangements have been announced for the Laois man, Alan Mulhall, who died tragically in a workplace accident yesterday.
Alan will be reposing at his home, 15 Aghnaharna Drive, Stradbally Road, Portlaoise, on Saturday from 5pm.
There will be a recital of the rosary at 8pm. The house will be family only on Sunday morning.
He will be laid to rest on Sunday following 11.30am requiem mass in the Church of the Sacred Heart, Stradbally. Burial will take place afterwards in Oakvale Cemetary.
Alan, who was 34, was married to Vikki Doogue and the couple had four young children – two sets of twins, three boys and one girl.
He was the second eldest of four children to dad Frank and mam Trisha. He is survived by his brothers David and Aidan and sister Rhonda.
Although living in Portlaoise, he was very involved in life in Stradbally in recent years, playing soccer with Stradbally Town and football with Stradbally GAA club.
He previously played with Emo from underage right up to the adult grades and went to primary school in Emo and secondary school in Mountmellick.
Accident
Alan, who worked as an electrician, was killed during an accident early on Thursday morning while working in Dublin.
A statement from the Garda Press Office confirmed the fatal incident.
“Gardaí at Kilmainham Dublin 8 together with the Health and Safety Authority are investigating a fatal workplace accident which occurred at St Patrick’s Hospital, Steevens Lane, Dublin 8 at approximately 7.50am this morning, Thursday, November 23,” read the statement.
“A 34-year-old man was fatally injured during the incident. It appears from initial investigations that the deceased was struck by a large fuse box,” the statement said.
