Revenue officers seized 8kg of cannabis, with an estimated value of €160,000, in the Mail Centre in Portlaoise today.
The Mail Centre’s detector dog – a black labrador called Stella – sniffed out the a parcel that had been sent from Romania to an address in Wicklow, according to theJournal.ie.
A revenue spokesperson said, “investigations are ongoing with a view to prosecution.

The latest discovery follows on from a similar discovery in the Mail Centre last May when herbal cannabis weighing 7.5kg and worth €150,000 was found in two separate parcels was found.
The drugs were concealed in a child’s armchair which had been sent from the UK and in a collection of wicker baskets which had originated in Thailand.
They were being sent to addresses in Dublin and Galway on that occasion.
