Scoil Chriost Rí are going back almost 100 years in time for this year’s Transition Year Musical.
‘Thoroughly Modern Millie’ tells the story of a young lady who wants to become at modern day New Yorker in the 1920s.
Her aim is to find a job and marry her boss, but when she meets Jimmy Smith, a charming young man who is determined to win over her heart, and Miss Dorothy, her new found aristocrat friend, her plans might not go as smoothly as she hoped.
With flapper girls and a hilarious trio of villains, this show will be one you can’t afford to miss.
The girls in Chriost Rí have been working hard to prepare for the past few weeks, dancing with choreographer Leah and learning the script with director Karen.
There is much excitement as the costume plans have yet to be made.
The girls recently hosted their Open Night for all fifth and sixth class girls intending to enroll into the school for 2018/19 with two rooms open for TYs.
In the first room, a scene from the script was acted out for the younger girls while next door, girls performed a wide variety of dances they had learned so far.
Shows will be from the December 11 to 15 with shows both day and night time for all who wish to attend.
Tickets are on sale in the Dunamaise Theatre at €10/12 each.
