Graduating from third level is a big moment in someone’s life.
College provides some memorable moments – mostly unrelated to lecture halls – but for a lot of people it marks the end of their formal educuation days.
And graduating is a big deal. This time of the year sees graduations all over the country.
For the most part, they’re boring affairs with one formal speech after another followed by a list of names being called out.
Last week it was Athlone IT’s day and our photographer Alf Harvey was there to capture the occasion.
The college have opted to hold their ceremonies in their stunning indoor athletics arena, something which marks it out as different from a lot of the other third level institutes.
Indeed that same indoor facility is one that’s worth the trip to have a look at alone.
As is the long tradition with Athlone IT, there were a good number of Laois students graduating and Alf spotted some of them – along with a whole lot more.
Congratulations to all who are graduating at the moment – and best wishes wherever your career may take you!
