It was just a routine Garda patrol in Mountmellick in the early hours of Saturday moning – but they recovered a substantial amount of stolen power tools and assorted equipment.
The Gardai stopped a van and trailer in Irishtown in Mountmellick at 5am and discovered a massive selection of power tools.
The recovery includes drills, strimmers, consaws and chainsaws among other items.
Gardai have released images of what they recovered and are asking anyone who recognises any of the property to contact laoisoffaly.crimeprevention@garda.ie.
The Gardai are currently identifying and cataloging what they have recovered. No value has been put on what they seized just yet.

Meanwhile, Gardai are also appealing for information following the robbery of a digger from Killeen Bridge in Crettyard between 5.15pm on Thursday of this week and 8am on Friday.
