Gardai launch appeal after digger stolen in Crettyard

Gardaí have launched an appeal after a digger was stolen in Crettyard.

The Daewoo Doosan Solar 030 digger was taken between 5.15pm Thursday evening and 8am Friday morning.

It was stolen from Killeen Bridge in Crettyard.

Gardaí are seeking information regarding its movement or whereabouts.

In a separate incident, the Laois County Fire and Rescue Services attended a fire at the old St Paul’s primary school on the Borris Road in Portlaoise late on Friday night.

The fire at the school building, which is no longer in use following the relocation to the new Holy Family premises in Aughnaharna in September, was attended to by local services at about 9.30pm.

It’s understood there were no injuries.
