Residents and businesses in Portlaoise are expected to be without water over the next few days, it has been announced.
Irish Water confirmed that valve works may cause supply disruptions in a number of locations in Portlaoise.
The areas affected are Ashwood Walk, Aghnaharna, Summerhill and surrounding areas in Portlaoise, Co. Laois.
“Works are scheduled to take place from 10am today, 31 October until 6pm on 1 November,” the company states.

Timing
The timing of the water outage may be a significant inconvenience for many people at this time.
Primary and secondary schools are closed this week with many children and families at home.
