Houses broken into in Stradbally and Portlaoise over the weekend

A number of houses in Portlaoise and Stradbally were broken into over the last couple of days, according to local Gardai.

House so in Summerhill and Chandler Gates in Portlaoise were burgled between 7pm and 12 midnight on Friday, October 20, with further break-ins in Roselawn in Portlaoise and Newtown, Stradbally, on Saturday at similar times.

Jewellry was stolen in a number of the properties with the intruders breaking in through the rear of most and the front door of one.

There are reports of similar break-ins in Edenderry in Offaly at the same time but they’re not believed to be linked.

Anybody with information is asked to contact Portlaoise Garda Station – or Edenderry, in the case of the Offaly robbery.
