Hard-core Macklemore and Niall Horan supporters queued through the night in Portlaoise to get their hands on tickets for their concerts in Ireland next spring.
Horan will begin his solo tour in the 3Arena in Dublin on Monday, March 12, 2018, before performing in Belfast, Glasgow, Manchester, London, Cardiff, Bournemouth and Brighton while American rapper Macklemore will play in the 3Arena on Wednesday, April 4.
Tickets for both concerts went on sale at 9am this morning but a number of people queued through the night to ensure they got their hands on them.
Among those towards the front of the queue at Colgan’s on Main Street in Portlaoise were Conor Fitzpatrick (The Heath), Sean O’Connell (Portlaoise), Jack Masterson (Portlaoise), Evan Harding (Emo), Peter Carroll (Ballyfin), Sean Greene (Emo), Eoin Fitzpatrick (Emo) and Adam Connolly (Ballyfin).
The lads, who were mostly students in Portlaoise CBS, queued throughout the night and reported light drizzle as the only real concern. They were first in line to snap up the Macklemore tickets while there were many more in the queue to make sure they get to see Niall Horan.
Mullingar man Horan, who is best known for being part of the One Direction group which sold 70 million albums, has signed a solo contract and is releasing his debut album Flicker.
Horan is currently in the middle of his Flicker World Tour which included an intimate concert at the Olympia theatre in Dublin in August.
Tickets for the concerts started at €48.90.
