The death has taken place at The Roses, Killeen, Mountmellick, Co. Leix of Kathleen Carmody, better known as “Kitty” and formerly of Kilkishen, Co. Clare, 3rd October 2017. Deeply regretted by her brother Michael John (Kilkishen), sisters Maura Fitzpatrick (Ballyfin), Nuala Scamahorn (USA) and the late Eileen Dumphy (USA), sister-in-law Rena, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and all her friends in The Roses.
Rosary at The Roses, Killeen, Mountmellick on Tuesday evening at 8pm. Reposing at The Roses on Wednesday from 12 noon with removal at 5pm to St. Senan’s Church, Kilkishen arriving at 7.30pm for Funeral Prayers Funeral Mass on Thursday at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Clonlea Cemetery, Kilkishen.
Joe (Hesh) McCormack
Borris Court, Portlaoise, Laois
The death has occurred of Joe (Hesh) McCormack, Borris Court Portlaoise, Oct. 2nd 2017. Peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Joe (Hesh), beloved husband of the late Theresa. And dearly loved dad to P.J , Ann, Mag, Larry, Martin, Carmel, Veronica, Anthony, Mary, and Thomas. Deeply regretted by his loving family, brothers, Jimmy, Colm, sisters, Mary, Theresa, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.
Reposing at Keegan’s Funeral Home from 4.30 pm on Tuesday with removal at 6.45 pm to SS Peter and Paul’s Church to arrive at 7 pm. Requiem Mass at 10 am on Wednesday, followed by interment in SS Peter and Paul’s Cemetery, Portlaoise.
Irene Elizabeth Walsh
Killasmeestia, Ballybrophy, Laois
The death has occurred of Irene Elizabeth Walsh, D. O. B. 31-1-1927, of The Bungalow, Killasmeestia, Ballybrophy, Co. Laois. Darling Queenie who was a wonderful mother, friend, neighbour, farmer, animal lover, gardener and community worker, who departed this life on Sat. 30th. Sept. 2017 following a few years of less than full health which she managed cheerfully. Queenie will be enormously missed by her daughter Ann Andrews, dog Buster, best friends who have cared for her constantly, neighbours and relatives. Predeceased by her loving husband Percy, brothers Jock, George and Norman and sister-in-law Helen.
Residing at home until removal on Tuesday, 3rd. Oct., for a celebration of her life in Borris in Ossory C. of I. Church (St. Mark’s) at 12 noon, to be followed by burial in Aghaboe Graveyard.
James (Jim) McEvoy
Bellair, Clonaslee, Laois
James (Jim) McEvoy, (Ex Timber Man), Bellair, Clonaslee, Co. Laois, died peacefully at the Midland Regional Hospital Tullamore on the 30th September 2017.
Predeceased by his wife Josephine and son Allen. He will be sadly missed by his loving family, daughters Bernadette, Una, Marie, and Pauline, sons Michael, John Joe, Seamus and Kevin, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, daughters-in-law, sons-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Monday afternoon with Rosary on Monday evening at 9pm. Reposing at his residence from 2pm on Tuesday afternoon with Rosary on Tuesday evening at 9pm. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am in St. Manman’s Church, Clonaslee, with burial afterwards in St. Manman’s Cemetery Clonaslee. House Strictly Private on Wednesday morning, please.

Maria Bridget O’Rourke, Kiln Lane, Mountrath, Co. Laois. Died peacefully on 1st October 2017, aged 31, after a short illness, bravely borne. Sadly missed by her two beautiful boys, her parents Sheila and Thomas, sisters Lillian and Elaine, family, relatives and friends. Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home Mountrath on Monday morning from 11 o’clock, until 1 o’clock. Funeral Mass on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock in St. Fintan’s Church Mountrath, followed by burial in St. Fintan’s Cemetery Mountrath.
As per Maria’s wishes, house absolutely private for her children.

CONNOLLY, Peter (Peadar), (Swords & formerly of Sweetview, Abbeylix and Maudlin Street, Kilkenny) – Sept. 29, 2017 (peacefully) at Beaumont Hospital; sadly missed by his loving wife Breda, daughter Lisa, son Jason, son-in-law Karl, daughter-in-law Olivia, grandchildren Jennifer, Amanda, Laura, Kim and Luke, great-grandaughter Sofia, brother Jim, sister Marie, brothers and sisters in law, nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Reposing at his home on Sunday (Oct. 1st) from 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Removal on Monday (Oct. 2nd) morning to St. Colmcille’s Church, Swords, arriving for 10 a.m. Mass followed by funeral to Donabate Cemetery.

Br. Augustine (Michael) O’Meara, De La Salle Brothers, Kintbury, Barkshire, England and formerly of Dunkerrin, Roscrea, Co. Tipperary. September 19th. 2017. Deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by his brother Phil, sister-in-law Dena, brother-in-law Liam, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives, friends and confreres. Reposing in the De La Salle Brothers, Monastery Chapel, Castletown, Mountrath, Co. Laois on Sunday evening 1st October from 4 o’c with rosary in the chapel at 8 o’c. followed by removal to St.Edmund’s (Parish) Church, Castletown. Funeral Liturgy and Mass on Monday 2nd October at 12 noon, with burial immediately afterwards in the Community Cemetery, Castletown.

The death has occurred of Mary Sweeney (London, England and late of Portlaoise, Co. Laois ) September 26th 2017, peacefully at North London Hospice, beloved younger daughter of the late Alec and Kathleen, (Glynnside, Portlaoise) and much loved sister of Catherine (Ashe). She will be greatly missed by her loving sister, brother-in-law Seán, nephews John & Rita, Michael & Jen, aunts Sheila and Angela, cousins, relatives and many friends.
Mary’s funeral Mass and Cremation will take place in London. Her Month’s Mind Mass will be in St Brigid’s Church, Straffan on Friday 27th October, at 7:30 pm.

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) McCormack, Kilcoran, Rathdowney, Co. Laois. September 27th 2017. Peacefully at the Midlands Regional Hospital, Portlaoise. Patrick (Paddy) in his 96th year.
