Karl Davis’s success in the intermediate reversible class and second place finishes for Pat Cooney and David Walsh were the Laois highlights at this year’s National Ploughing Championships in Screggan this week.
For Ballylinan man Davis it was a first All Ireland title and he won it on Day 1 at the Offaly venue.
He was the only Laois competitor to take outright honours over the course of the three days though David Walsh did come second in the U-21 conventional class and Pat Cooney was also second in the junior conventional ranks and was just two marks off winning outright.
