The students of Raheen NS were full of excitement on Tuesday morning when we called out for a visit.
All of the classes were decked out in the Colt GAA colours ahead of this weekend’s Senior A hurling final.
Their team, who are amalgamated with Clonad to form a Gaels side, will face Ballyfin Gaels in the decider.
Over 110 pupils attend the school in Raheen which has produced an incredible number of players who currently make up the backbone of the Colt team.
Brothers James and Henry Keyes, along with Cian Moffitt, Brian McDermott and Chris Murray, who all star as forwards for Clonad – came through the school.
The defence is a similar story with keeper Stephen Sinnott, Niall Brennan, Darren Brennan, Anthony Dunne, Shane Mullins and Gearóid Parkinson all studying in the school.
That’s a real dynasty if ever one was heard of!
