It’s all steam ahead here in Stradbally today, with people gathering in their thousands for this year’s Electric Picnic.
Campers arrived in festival spirit throughout the day.
And our photographer was greeted by some Laois locals including Rory Doyle, Alan Kinsella and friends from Colaiste Iosagain in Portarlington.
Kelly Ging and the Kelly Lou Cupcakes team were set up in their pop-up cafe in the Trailer Park and have been keeping the LaoisToday representatives going with sweet treats and hot beverages to sustain us.
“The Wednesday Gang” have attracted large crowds at The Salty Dog this afternoon singing old classics such as “Dirty Old Town”. while ampsites have been filling up quickly with concert goers arriving in high spirits from early in the day.
We also bumped into David Walsh-Kemmis and his family, David of course being the man behind the new Ballykilcavan craft brewery based between Stradbally and Athy.
The mobile home stage is back at the Trailer Park this year, along with several food stands including a brand new sit down restaurant “The Hot House”, a restaurant with full service, serving mouth watering dishes and housed inside a giant poly-tunnel, dressed by the incredible salvage brokers The Store Yard which is based in Portlaoise.
The LaoisToday team will be out and about all weekend at Electric Picnic bringing you coverage across all our social media channels.
So, if you see us, make yourselves known and we’ll get your photo and feature you on some of our platforms.
