On Tuesday the LaoisToday team attended the Electric Picnic press launch, and were taken for a guided tour and a sneak peak of whats ahead for this weekend’s festival.
We met with the workers and volunteers who have been living on the site for the past three weeks, working hard and putting everything together for this weekends three day festival.
Volunteers from all around the country have been taking part to help out for the week leading up to Electric Picnic.
SuperValu in Stradbally are more than prepared for the big crowds expected to be coming into the local supermarket, as they have large quantities of stock delivered in the days leading up to this weekend.
Melvyn Benn, who is the festival director, informed media at the site on the morning that Electric Picnic organisers have agreed a deal with the Cosby to continue until 2027.
The news comes as a massive boost to the wider Laois area and further cements Stradbally’s association with the Electric Picnic which it has hosted since 2004.
Over 60,000 concert-goers will descend on the ‘Little Town’ this weekend which has been a hive activity for the past couple of weeks.
