It is never too late to return to education, says Kathleen Dunne, Adult Literacy Organiser in Portlaoise Further Education and Training Centre.
“Whether someone needs to start at the beginning and improve their reading, writing and spelling or do an accredited programme to improve employment opportunities or simply wants to learn a new skill we have many courses under the one roof,” she says ahead of the centre’s open evening next week.
Potential learners are invited to come along to an open evening on August 31 to see what is on offer in this welcoming, vibrant centre which promises a friendly, professional service to all their learners.
Portlaoise Further Education and Training Centre is located in Tower Hill, Portlaoise. The former CBS secondary school is now home to many adult education courses.
The centre offers many part-time courses including; one-to-literacy courses, Level 2 Healthy Living and Learning Through Gardening, Level 3 Art & Design, Employment Skills and Electrical Skills, Level 4 Employment Skills, Level 5 Hospitality Traineeship and also Leaving Certificate English.
The tutors and staff are passionate about adult education and by providing accredited and unaccredited courses work with individuals to find the best course that suits their level of education and future needs.
