A former Irish rugby captain and Munster legend will be the guest speaker at a Laois Business Networking Evening in September.
The event takes place on September 12 at 7.30 pm in the Maryborough Suite, Midlands Park Hotel, Portlaoise.
Kerry native Mick Galwey will undoubtedly have a captive audience for his talk: “Lessons from sport which helped my business career”.
The evening will also feature a talk – “How I built my brand and brought it to a national final” – by Kelly Ging of Kelly Lou Cakes in conversation with journalist Steven Miller from Laois Today.
A launch of LEO Laois Autumn 2017 Training Programme will also take place, with details outlined by Evelyn Reddin, Head of Enterprise.
During the evening, a presentation of Spring 2017 Training Certificates will also be made by Cllr Padraig Fleming, Cathaoirleach, Laois County Council.
The organisers say this should be an enjoyable networking evening in the company of fellow course participants, a wide variety of Laois businesspeople and an Irish sporting icon. Refreshments will also be served.
Places are limited so anyone interested in attending is asked to book on the Laois Business Network website.
Those wishing to receive their training Certificate of Attendance on the evening can separately email before Friday September 1.
Mick Galwey won an All-Ireland medal with Kerry in 1986 as a 19-year-old before focusing on rugby union.
Born in Currow; he enjoyed a decorated career, winning county championship medals in all grades.
He earned 41 Irish caps and went on 1993 Lions tour to New Zealand.
He was capped 130 times for Munster, 30 as captain. He also won fve AIB League medals; nine Munster senior cup medals.
