A family fun day takes place in Ballyroan tomorrow, Sunday, May 28.
The event, which gets underway at 11am, is organised by the Ballyroan Parents Association in association with the Ballyroan-Abbeyleix Athletic Club, from Rockview Walkways in the village.
“We have checked the weather forecast and it is predicting a warm and dry day,” say the organisers. “But just in case they get it wrong, we have two large marquees to shelter from the elements and the lovely ‘Rambling House’ will be kitted out to cater for everyone needs!
“Our 4km race starts at 12.30pm with 1st & 2nd prizes up for grabs for both adults and juveniles. Our 2km family walk/run will start at 1pm, every child who participates in this race will receive a certificate and goodies after the race!
“Complimentary tea/coffee/sambos and baked goods will be served in ‘Rambling House’ after each race for all participants. Free car parking will be located beside ‘Rambling House’ and can be accessed from the entrance opp O’Dea’s House on the Ballyroan -Portlaoise Road (R425) look out for our roadside signs and balloons on approach! The price for a family is capped at €10 or a completed sponsorship card.
“This covers entry to the races/goodies for the kids/refreshments and lots of free activities after the races including Jecca the Clown/face painting/bouncing castle/nerf gun shootout and much more!”
