Emergency services were at the scene of a serious crash between Mountrath and Portlaoise late last night (Thursday).
The incident occurred on the R445 Portlaoise to Mountrath road shortly after 10pm at Clonkeen.
AA Roadwatch described the incident as a “serious crash”.
The road was closed for a number of hours after the crash with gardai at the scene directing traffic.
