The son shone brightly on the county on Friday and Saturday and it was particularly timely for the small village of Vicarstown as a number of vintage barges passed through as part of a Heritage Boat Association event.
From Friday onwards, a flotilla of vintage barges went through the Laois village with some stopping off for a series of events.
The stop is organised by the Heritage Boat Association who are bringing the flotilla along the Grand Canal, down the Barrow and on to Waterford.
Our photographer stopped by on Saturday afternoon.
