The search is underway for contestants for the Laois Rose 2017 selection night and on Sunday there was afternoon tea in the Portlaoise Heritage Hotel for those who have expressed an interest in taking part so far.
The event was attended by 2016 Laois Rose Kate Hyland, who was just back from a short trip to Chernobyl, as well as the new Laois Rose co-ordinator Lyn Moloney. Steve Cronly, commercial manager with the Rose of Tralee, outlined to the girls lies in store between now and the selection night on April 30.
They have a number of social events before the main event, including an evening of bowling in Roll n Bowl in Portlaoise and a night out in some of the popular venues in Portlaoise.
