Met Eireann have issued a wind warning for Laois, along with a number of other counties for today.
There is a Status Yellow warning in place for Dublin, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Wicklow, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Clare, Limerick and Tipperary.
“Storm Ewan: South to southwesterly winds will reach mean speeds of 50 to 65km/h with gusts of 90 to 110km/h at times from Sunday morning to Sunday afternoon,” said a Met Eireann statement.
The warning is in place for from Sunday at 6am to 3pm.
A Status Orange warning is in place for Wexford, Waterford, Cork and Kerry with wind speeds of up to 120km/h along the southern and south eastern coastal counties.
A number of sports games in Laois were called off on Sunday morning because of the weather while AA Roadwatch are reporting flooding on the Portlaoise-Carlow road between Arles and Simmon’s Cross.
