Crettyard United’s Leinster Junior Cup last 16 clash away to Crumlin United on Saturday is the stand out fixture on what will be a busy weekend of action on the soccer field for Laois clubs.
The Carlow border club pulled off an upset last week when they beat Mid Sutton after extra time to book a place in the last 16 of the competition.
Speaking to KCLR, manager Patrick Brennan says that he is excited about facing Dublin opposition again.
He said: ““Yeah, big tie this weekend. We are up and down the road to Dublin.
“It’s our second visit in six days to the capital so yeah looking forward to another crack at the Dublin lads.
“This is the 5th round now, we are actually in the last 16 on Saturday so we have had a very good run this year now.
“We are looking to go just one better now and make it to the quarter-finals, it would be a great achievement”
Elsewhere, Raheen, who enjoyed great cup success last week in the Paddy Cotter Cup, will now face Clonown Rovers in the Umbro John Farrell Combined Counties Cup 3rd Round on Sunday.
There are two all-Laois ties on the day also with Portlaoise hosting Rosenallis in the CCFL Premier Division while Stradbally Town will make the short trip to Portlaoise Shamrocks in Division 1.
